Will Mobile Broadband Eventually Be Free?

According to website Top 10 Broadband, it’s inevitable that mobile broadband will soon be offered for free. The website predicts that dongles will soon be included as part of a mobile phone package – emulating the ‘free’ home broadband deals offered by the likes of Talk Talk and Orange. This could happen as early as next year, given the current highly competitive market.

Recent price drops have seen the prestige value of mobile broadband plummet. 3G high speed wireless internet  access is no longer considered a luxury item. In the last two years, Vodafone has gone from charging £45/ month to £15/month whilst quadrupling the bandwith and tripling the download limit.

Could this be the end of traditional home broadband?
