Mobile phone companies have been advised to give some of their planned global broadband policies a careful and thorough rethink by IT security company, AdaptiveMobile.
In an attempt to keep within the new EU regulations, some providers are apparently in plans to prohibit customers from using their mobile broadband to download data while they’re abroad.
AdaptiveMobile has advised that such providers stand to lose out on potential revenue as some customers might not be willing to sign up to a mobile broadband contract if they knew their download usage would be non-existent whilst roaming abroad. One can imagine that it would definitely be an inconvenience for people who travel and work from their laptops for a living.
AdaptiveMobile went on to say that these providers needed to manage their network assets in a more efficient way in order for them to provide a tailor-made service according to a customer’s requirements.
