Question by sob1467: Does a Dovado usb mobile broadband router improve the speed of usb mobile broadband?
I have mobile broadband from vodafone it is maent to be 3.6gb but I have never got it over 1.gb.I have seen the advertisement on various sites for this dovado router. Does anyone have one or know someone who has one and do they work?

Hello sob1467,

No, routers do not improve speed. They only allow you to network off of them to have more than one computer connection. If you are having speed issues, you should contact the ISP about it.

All they will do is sahre te connection over wireless and possibly ethernet. That will most likely reduce the speed.

The speed of mobile broadband is dependent on distance/signal strength from the phone mast, the speed of the network (3.6gb) and the current usage on that phone mast from all users.

A router will not make a difference to the speed. It will only allow you to share your connection with devices connected to the router.
