Question by Robert A: Do you use mobile broadband in UK? How do you rate it?
I am thinking of getting Vodafone mobile broadband with new laptop for use by spouse and myself as we spend considerable time away with elderly relative, also useful to have extra PC at home and whilst travelling. Majority opinion on what I read so far is that Vodafone performance likely to be best of UK providers? I recognise that performance may sometimes be very slow or occasionally non existent but are the problems sufficiently rare to be tolerable? Our use will be mainly browsing Internet and mail.

The best is on a monthly contract. Pay as you go can be expensive. However, don’t use a UK based mobile broadband outside the UK.

People have found out to their cost as you can be charged International rates at £3 per Mb. That’s all the total upload and download.

I would recommend it.
I had BT broadband before changing to Vodafone mobile and because of my rural situation had nothing but trouble.
Since changing to the vodafone connection I have had no problems at all. The performance is actually quicker for me!
Its great, easy to use, and I take it everywhere when visiting my friends up country.
Sounds Ideal for you.
