Question by proud walker: Can anyone tell me moe about the free laptop with mobile broadband connection?
I’ve seen it advertised for £20 or £30 per month on a two year contract. would that cover say 6 hours broadband usage a day with youtube downloads? has anyone tried it please?

Doubtful – mine only offers about 1 meg – try downloading a free monitor and seeing how much you use now, because they slam you with heavy penalties for going over use.

Personally, I have one of these laptop deals and I have had it since September.
I have had no problems at all with either the laptop or the mobile broadband (although I tend to plug my cable modem in and use that for quickness)
The internet connection can be slow at times but I got exactly what it said on the tin and think I have got a good deal, well, I certainly don’t feel as if I’ve been ripped off anyway!
The only advice I would offer is to double check the laptop you will be getting, some companies only offer the ones with the tiny screens, mine is a 15 inch so not bad for a freebie at all I reckon! And yes I will probably pay well over the odds for the laptop as it’s a 2 year contract but I am happy, I get 5gb a month which is plenty for me personally, I noticed from all other answers that people seem to be answering negatively without actually having tried the offer but I have tried it and I have no complaints at all!
Ps I got the deal from the link and it’s on the 3 network and I pay £30 a month, hope that helps.
Also, to the person who said u need a good credit score, I have to disagree, my credit rating is very poor and I got one no probs, as long as u have a credit card, u will more than likely pass the credit scoring carry on!

Don’t bother. They take charge of your phones bills and the spec of the trashy systems are not worth signing up to for eighteen months.

I work in a store that offers that, it’s not worth it, you’d end up paying quadrouple the amount you would have for a laptop on it’s own for an unstable connection!! Trust me don’t do it!
