Question by dont know much: what is 2g coverage does it give you mobile internet or broadband ?
i was wanting mobile broadband but the area i was looking to use it in only has 2g coverage , i just dont know what that is and if it will give me proper broadband connection

No, sorry, it won’t work. 2g is your basic phone connection, calls and texts. You need a 3g connection to get broadband.

2G connections run at up to 56kbps, similar to dial-up. 3G is much faster. If you’ve checked and found that nobody provides 3G coverage then you may as well just connect your mobile phone to your computer since it won’t get any faster. If you buy a mobile broadband device you’ll find it virtually impossible to use up your credit as it’ll be so slow, just not worth the money. One more thing, forget any ideas about using Windows Live Messenger on 2G, it simply doesn’t work.

well i have just set my mobile phone up to use as a modem and use sony ericsson k850i which is a 3g phone and i asked if i was having problems using it could i change to a 2g handset and the lady in the tech dept said yes but its alot slower than the 3g as she used to use it but it allows you to do your basics like email and surf
