From today, 3 Mobile have slashed the prices of two of their most popular pay as you go dongle packages.

The two packages that are affected are:

Pay As You Go +1 Mobile Broadband – was £29.99 | now £19.99
Pay As You Go +3 Mobile Broadband – was £39.99 | now £29.99

This is probably one of the cheapest ways to get online, without having to sign up for a subscription or buy extra data allowances. The price includes the latest 3G modem from ZTE plus either 1GB or 3GB of pre-loaded data so you can connect to the internet straight away.

According to 3,

“The ZTE MF112 is another of our newest, next generation dongles that give you fast broadband speeds with no wires or hassles. Just plug it into the USB port on your laptop and watch as everything auto-installs, whether you’re on a PC or a Mac. The user-friendly connection dashboard is also really easy to use and it lets you send and receive text messages while you’re online.”

Here’s an idea of what you can do with 1GB of data:

  • Send 1000 Outlook/HTML Emails
  • Surf the Web for 10 hours
  • Download 5 four minute videos
  • Download 32 four minute music tracks

Just a reminder to all consumers that 3 mobile broadband has considerably more negative reviews than that of any other network provider, was ranked lowest by Which? Magazine in a reader survey of customer services amongst UK networks conducted in December 2010 and that service from all aspects is appalling for many customers and has been since the inception of this service in 2008. This company doesn’t do quality and doesn’t do improvement. 3 love promoting themselves and are quite good at it – but ignore the hype and read real customer reviews from real customers. Just be wary of the positive reviews which are normally written by people who work for 3. Stick to the leading networks – 02, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone – and stay well away from 3 who have mastered the art of taking maximum advantage of poor industry regulation.
