As always, the answer is “depends…”

The two key questions are (1) how are you connecting to the mobile network and (2) what distro are you running?

If you are connecting via a wifi hotspot generated from a phone, the answer will be yes, regardless of distro. The signal generated is just a normal wifi signal and any wifi enabled laptop/pc can connect to it.

If you are connecting via a dongle, unless you’re using some obscure distro, 99% of the time it will work out of the box. It would be worthwhile checking on a forum dedicated to your distro however, they’ll be better placed to answer the question.

If you’re tethering your phone, again 99% of the time it will work but check on a forum dedicated to your distro.

Hope that helps
